Peanut Butter Oat Mug Cake
Share
When one person wants a small warm treat, a mug recipe saves a whole pan of leftovers. This one combines oats, egg, peanut butter, milk, and baking powder in a microwave-safe mug. It has no sweetener in the base recipe, so expect a lightly flavored cake unless your peanut butter is sweetened or you add a topping.
At a glance: Makes 1 mug cake · About 3–5 minutes to mix (estimate) · 2 minutes microwave time · 1 minute cooling · Microwave-safe mug

Our recipe review
Ease — 5/5. Five measured ingredients go into one mug, with no special equipment beyond a microwave.
Healthier — 3/5. The base has no added sugar or refined flour, but the egg and peanut butter make it a different, denser kind of cake. Toppings and portion size would matter in a comparison with a conventional mug cake.
Speed — 5/5. Two minutes of cooking and one minute of cooling make it a quick single-serving option. Mixing adds a few minutes.
